Busa®WELD is a technology for plasma-powder welding, obtaining temperatures between 10,000 and 15,000°C using a plasma torch with a transferred arc. The powder to be welded is transported through a plasma-building gas and an inert gas atmosphere is built at the same time. Using Busa®WELD, the substrate material is always either melted or partially melted, whereas the temperature is kept extremely low. A wide range of grain sizes may be used without affecting the quality of the weld. The deposited materials used are alloys in which tungsten carbides can be embedded.
