Busa®SPRAY is a powder flame spraying technology. A coating material in powder form is melted in a flame, formed into a spray and propelled towards a prepared work surface. In order to obtain a diffusion bonding with the substrate material, the powder containing tungsten carbide needs a thermal after-treatment by sintering. Sintering is done at temperatures of over 1,000°C and increases the adhesive tensile strength of the coatings considerably. The procedure can be automated and ensures reproducibility and dimensional accuracy.
